Chris McGee is a native of Hopkinsville, KY, where he attended Christian County High School. McGee then attended Austin Peay State University as a Music Education Major in Clarksville, TN.  During his college career he was involved in various small ensembles, marching band, concert band, and was the principal euphonium player for four years in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble. In December 2003, McGee graduated APSU with a Bachelor of Science degree, also earning Cum Laude Honors.  McGee is currently seeking a Masters of Music Education degree at Western Kentucky University.


Before coming to Meade County, Mr. McGee spent the previous 6 years of his teaching in Muhlenberg County.  During this time he served as the head director for the Muhlenberg South High School Band for 5 years and associate director at Muhlenberg County High School for 1 year. While at Muhlenberg South he led the Marching Suns to their first ever State Finals appearance in 2006 and to the Class AA State Championship in 2007.  Under Mr. McGee's direction, the band again made State Finals in 2008 and was named Class AA State Runner-up.  In addition to the success of the marching band, Mr. McGee's concert bands have consistently received distinguished ratings.  In 2008, the Muhlenberg South High School Concert Band received Exemplary Status at the Third District Concert Festival.


Mr. McGee's teaching schedule includes 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, High School Concert and Symphonic Bands, and Music Appreciation. Extracurricular activities include Marching Band and Pep Band.  Mr. McGee is married and has four Children.   

Mr. McGee's professional affiliations include the Kentucky Music Educators Association, the Music Educator's National Conference, and the Phi Kappa Lambda National Honor Society.
